The Furnishings Sale on Saturday 9th April begins with a great clock category: the wall, longcase and mantle examples include an 18th century oak cased longcase clock by M Thomas & Sons (lot 1012) and a 19th century eight-day mahogany single train fusee wall clock, lot 1000). What follows is a rich line up of rugs and mirrors - and a wide-ranging and unique selection of furniture spanning the 18th century to the present day. Highlights include some charming bureaus, including a George III mahogany bureau (lot 1050) and an early 20th century golden oak bureau (lot 1104), as well as a particularly eye-catching Edwardian inlaid rosewood salon suite, upholstered in statement red and gold fabric (lot 1051).

A miniature spring driven longcase clock made in Germany by the Hamburg American Clock Company c 1890, with a mahogany finished case, break arch pediment and opening hood door, case with a fully glazed opening trunk door on a short plinth with raised feet, with an etched silver effect dial, Arabic numerals, minute track and spade hands, 8-day key wound movement with a silk suspension and visible pendulum.

An 18th century oak cased longcase clock by M Thomas & Sons, Carnarvon c1780, flat topped hood with a wide cornice and plain frieze, glazed hood door flanked by two shaped pillars, with a long trunk and door with a break arch top, with canted and reeded corners on a short plinth with a raised conforming break arch panel and skirting, 13” brass dial with an engraved centre, small semi-circular date aperture and disc behind, with a subsidiary seconds dial, non-matching steel hands and scroll spandrels, Engraved chapter ring with roman numerals, five minute Arabic's and minute markers, dial pinned directly to an eight day rack striking movement, striking the hours on a cast bell. With weights, pendulum and key. Michael and Morris Thomas are recorded as working together in Carnarvon 1769-94.

A mid-19th century oak and mahogany longcase clock by “ Wm Harrison, Tadcaster”, swans neck pediment with brass paterae and three ball and spire finials, recessed break arch door flanked by two turned and ringed pillars with brass capitals, oak and mahogany trunk with a short door and twin spire top and inlaid crosbanding, on a conforming rectangular plinth with a raised panel, fully painted break arch dial with a depiction of a traveller in a continental landscape to the arch, with floral painted spandrels, Roman numerals and fifteen minute Arabic's, subsidiary seconds dial and date calendar, matching hands in stamped brass, dial pinned directly to an eight day rack striking movement, striking the hours on a bell. With pendulum, weights and key. William Harrison is recorded as working at various locations in Tadcaster during the 19th century, High Street (1822) Bridge Street (1826) and Kirkgate (1832).
