The Musical & Scientific Instruments, Cameras & Maritime sale on Friday 19th November is a high value auction including a rare early 20th century double bass (lot 3010), the lifetime instrument of the internationally renowned professional musician Roy Babbington, estimated at £30,000 - £40,000. It is complemented with excellent cellos, violins and violas, fine quality bows, a selection of mechanical music including a Symphonion, a phonograph, musical boxes and gramophones - as well as some 1970s professional gig equipment including a Fender Twin-Reverb amplifier (lot 3062). Maritime and Railway items include an interesting collection of Naval doctors surgical instruments (lot 3128), and the representation of scientific and technical instruments include a number of lots of 19th century and later pharmaceutical laboratory glass which was discovered in the storeroom of a long-established Hull pharmacist and opticians (lots 3170-3174). Cameras and photographic equipment include some excellent Pentax and Mamiya cameras.
