19th century Germany entomology collectors cabinet, with thirty four glazed specimen drawers with brass handles, label to the side 'Property of the Trustees of the British Museum', draw size H6cm, D42cm, W51cm By vendors repute; 'I had a close friend who worked in the Entomological part of the British Natural History museum, Cromwell Road, London, I was very fortunate enough to be invited to the back working rooms of the Entomological Section and had many tours and looked at their work on various aspects of entomology, they were the Arctidae expert, studying and writing papers on them. The entire collection of some 6 million specimens were being relocated to the new purpose built Entomological building and many of the cabinets were no longer needed. The cabinets were to be destroyed or offered to members of staff, who were able to take which ever they required for their own use, I was fortunate enough to be included in being offered surplus cabinets and took the one you now have for auction'
