David Duggleby

David Duggleby

Director | Auctioneer | Art Consultant

David established David Duggleby Auctioneers and Valuers with his wife, Jane, in 1996. What began as a small enterprise in Scarborough, managed by the couple alone, has since grown into a large operation with locations across Yorkshire, including valuation offices in Beverley and Harrogate, sister auction house Duggleby Stephenson of York, and three Movers and Storers operations based in Scarborough, Hornsea and Wetherby.

David and Jane have now stepped back from the day-to-day running of the business, although David remains closely connected to the auction world. He continues to consult on fine art valuations and can still be found at the rostrum presiding over our Fine Art sales.

Charlie Ward

Charlie Ward

Head of Jewellery & Watches | Specialist Valuer & Catalogue Curator

Charlie joined our team in 2016 with a wide range of experience in the world of art and antiques. She quickly discovered a particular passion for jewellery valuation and joined our Jewellery & Watches department to develop her skills and expertise in the field.

Her fascination with jewellery and watches comes from what each individual piece can reveal about the era in which it was made, whether antique, vintage or contemporary, as well as the quality and craftsmanship behind it.

“In a culture where trends change at an extreme pace, jewellery and watches can transcend the precedent with timeless designs that continue to captivate. That’s why buying at auction is so special – you can find something truly unique, which can be hard these days.”

Charlie now heads our thriving Jewellery & Watches department while also conducting valuations at our offices across Yorkshire. She particularly enjoys the variety each day brings, from meeting new clients to hearing the stories behind the unique pieces that come through our doors.

As Head of Art, Dominic is kept busy conducting valuations both in our offices and out in the field. He is also a familiar face at the rostrum, presiding over our art sales and a number of other auctions, and remains an integral part of the wider Dugglebys team.
