French- late19th century miniature scale longcase clock standing 13" high, walnut case with finely turned and carved features, 2-1/4” enamel dial with Roman numerals, minute track and steel moon hands within a glazed brass bezel, French spring driven 8-day timepiece movement stamped EGL, with a lever platform escapement wound an set from the rear. With Key.
EGL refers to the Parisian clockmakers and retailers Gay Lamaille and Co.
The firm produced many quality carriage clocks and clock movements during the late 19th century.
