The latest Furniture & Rugs sale brings together an interesting mix of antique, vintage and later furnishings, combining decorative period pieces with practical items for modern interiors. The catalogue ranges from 18th century furniture through to late 20th century and contemporary design, with a particularly good selection of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian pieces.Among the furniture are handsome storage and statement items, including Edwardian walnut wardrobes, a mid 20th century French painted armoire, and an impressive range of chests, cabinets, desks and tables in mahogany, walnut, oak and rosewood. Seating is equally varied, from upholstered Victorian sofas and armchairs to French style salon seating, dining chairs and Chesterfields, while mirrors, occasional tables and display cabinets add further decorative interest throughout the sale.The rugs section is broad and colourful, featuring both hand-knotted Persian carpets and Afghan flatweave kilims and runners.
