This 1937 Mouseman refectory table was a commission by Sir Herbert Baker for Westminster Church House. The rectangular adzed plank top sits above twin octagonal baluster supports connected by a pegged stretcher. The table is elevated on shaped sled bases intricately carved with a partridge and a loaf of bread, featuring the iconic mouse signature on the inside leg, a hallmark of Robert Thompson of Kilburn.

The symbolic carvings of loaves and partridges pay homage to the original patron and Frank Partridge, the Bishop of Portsmouth from 1877 to 1941. Partridge was instrumental in the establishment of Church House and served as its Secretary from 1936 to 1941.
