A charming portrait attributed to James Miller (British 1791-1865) featuring Dorothy Tanfield, the wife of Lincolnshire Clergyman Basil Bury Beridge. This oil on canvas piece is unsigned and measures 61cm x 51cm. The verso of the painting bears a Sotheby's sticker, adding to its provenance.
Originally part of the collection of Sir Brooke Boothby of Fonmon Castle, this exquisite portrait was auctioned by Sotheby's on 12th May 1999 before being acquired by Tennants in 2025.
