Our upcoming sale presents an exceptional selection spanning military history, fine arms and sporting pieces – from edged weapons of the 18th century to distinguished medal groups of the 20th.

Highlights include a fine 1796 pattern British heavy cavalry officer’s sword by Thomas Osborn, with double-edged blade and gilt brass guard housed in its steel scabbard, and a WWII German Kriegsmarine naval dagger by E.u.F. Hörster, Solingen, with eagle pommel and richly engraved scabbard. Also featured is a traditional Skean dhu, hallmarked 1955, with ebonised hilt and stone-set pommel.

Firearms are led by a scarce pair of cased British officers’ percussion cap duelling pistols by Braggs of London, c.1832–42, complete with original case and accessories, alongside a Colt .36 Navy percussion revolver and a classic British Martini-Henry Mk IV service rifle, Enfield 1887. Sporting enthusiasts will find a strong selection including a Beretta 686 Onyx Sporting 12-bore over and under shotgun, offered with multi-choke set and fitted case, as well as a handsome William Moore & Grey 10-bore percussion pigeon gun.

Medal collectors will be drawn to several important groups, such as the WWI trio awarded to Sister A.E. Middleton of the Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Military Nursing Service Reserve, and a comprehensive WWII medal group awarded to Commander John Cecil Gilbert Martin, Royal Navy, comprising his OBE, campaign stars, Coronation medal and associated ephemera.

With pieces of historical, military and sporting significance, this sale offers an excellent opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Browse the catalogue and place your bids now.
