Sally Arnup, FRBS, ARCA (1930-2015): "Little Owl," bronze sculpture, signed and numbered VVX. Sold For: £3,900.

Lot Number: 1257
Rhinoceros horn libation cup with gilt metal mounts, likely 18th century. The cup is of naturalistic form, carved with veins, featuring a gilt figural handle, mounted on a gilt knopped stem and quatrefoil base embossed and chased with trophies and foliate motifs. Sold For: £14,500.

Lot Number: 1246
Greek Attic black-figured eye cup, of typical form with twin handles. The exterior is painted with erotic figures flanked by apotropaic eyes, and the black interior features a reserved tondo with a ring dot motif, set on a pedestal foot. Sold For: £13,000.

Sir Edgar Bertram MacKennal (Australian, 1863-1931), "Diana Wounded," bronze sculpture with black patina, signed and dated "B MacKennal 1905." Sold For: £11,000.

John Wootton (British 1678-1764): Extensive Italianate Capriccio Landscape with Classical Pastoral Figures, oil on canvas, indistinctly signed lower center "J Wootton."

Mouseman - Adzed oak pedestal chest, fitted with six drawers, each with a turned handle, panelled sides, on octagonal feet. By the workshop of Robert Thompson, Kilburn. Provenance: This lot is consigned from a direct descendant of Robert Thompson, the great-grandfather of the vendor. Sold For: £5,200

Lot Number: 1309
In the manner of Tiffany & Co. - Bronze "Chased Pod" design floor lamp with a "Maple Leaf" dome leaded glass shade, decorated with flowers in blue and green shades. Features six branches on a column decorated with stylized trailing stems, terminating at a circular base with plant motifs on scrolled feet. The base is stamped "Tiffany Studios New York 379," and the inner shade is stamped "Tiffany Studios New York [...]" Sold For: £20,000

Lot Number: 6236
Mouseman - Unusual circa 1930s adzed oak tub-shaped armchair with a barrel-back and woven leather. This chair attracted significant attention from various news outlets, including the Antiques Trade Gazette, The Gazette & Herald, The York Press, The Scunthorpe Telegraph, and The Hull Daily Mail. Decorative Objects


We are delighted to have secured a stunning selection of decorative objects for the Country House Sale. Highlights include a large 18th-century Meissen plate painted in a chinoiserie style, a pair of tall 19th-century Chinese vases with mountainous landscapes, a turn-of-the-century Royal Worcester oval plaque hand-painted by Harry Davis depicting a rare farmyard scene, and an early 20th-century Wedgwood Fairland lustre vase by Daisy Makeig-Jones. These pieces span a range of styles and periods, all perfectly capturing the timeless appeal of country living.

Furniture


In addition to decorative objects, we’ve secured several remarkable pieces of furniture for the sale. Highlights include a 17th-century inlaid oak court cupboard with intricate carvings and an inscription dated 1618, a George III mahogany serpentine chest with brass fittings and a baize-lined slide, and a Mouseman oak sideboard from Robert Thompson’s Kilburn workshop, complete with the signature carved mouse. Also featured is a large dapple-grey rocking horse in the manner of F. H. Ayres, with glass eyes and leather tack. Each piece is chosen for its exceptional craftsmanship and historical significance.
