From richly patterned Persian carpets to Art Deco diamonds, Yorkshire landscapes and studio ceramics, this week’s auctions offer depth, variety and strong decorative appeal across every category. With five sales closing between Wednesday and Friday, there is something for collectors, interiors enthusiasts and first time bidders alike.

Here are some of the highlights.

Persian & Oriental Rugs & Carpets

Pattern, craftsmanship and scale define this week’s Rugs sale, with strong examples from key Persian weaving centres.

Lot 503 carries an estimate of £600–800, a striking North West Persian Heriz carpet. Its brick red field and bold angular star medallion typify the robust geometry Heriz designs are known for. Large in scale and confident in palette, this is a statement interior piece. More fluid in style, Lot 546 is a Central Persian Najafabad carpet, estimated at £500–700. The ivory field is filled with scrolling palmettes and vine work in a harmonious palette of madder red, indigo blue and soft green. Najafabad carpets are admired for their balance of formality and warmth.

For hallways or narrower spaces, Lot 514, a North East Persian Sumak flatweave kilim runner, is guided at £220–280. Its elongated field of horizontal geometric bands in madder red, ochre and indigo offers colour and texture without overwhelming a space.

Ends Wednesday 25 February from 4pm | Online Timed Auction. See the full catalogue here.

Jewellery

This week’s Jewellery sale combines refined gemstones with period design.

Leading the selection is Lot 8006, an Art Deco platinum diamond bracelet estimated at £2,000–3,000. Dating to circa 1920, the articulated openwork design is milgrain set with old cut and baguette diamonds totalling approximately 3.85 carats. A classic piece of early twentieth century glamour.

For those drawn to coloured stones, Lot 8014 is a platinum emerald and diamond three stone ring, estimated at £1,500–2,500. The 1.85 carat cushion cut emerald is framed by brilliant cut diamonds, creating a timeless and elegant composition. Meanwhile, Lot 8029, a pair of 18ct gold sapphire and diamond pendant earrings, estimated at £800–1,000, offer dramatic impact. Each briolette oval cut sapphire suspends beneath a brilliant cut diamond, with total sapphire weight of approximately 40 carats.

Ends Thursday 26 February from 11am. See the full catalogue here.

Furniture & Rugs

This sale blends mid century design with character pieces from further afield.

Lot 7110, a McIntosh of Kirkcaldy circular teak coffee table, is estimated at £100–150. Its starburst radial veneer top and tapered supports are hallmarks of mid twentieth century Scottish design and remain highly versatile in contemporary interiors.

Comfort and craftsmanship combine in Lot 7003, a Tetrad brown leather armchair, estimated at £250–350. With its gently curved back and rolled arms, it offers a relaxed yet traditional silhouette. Adding sculptural presence, Lot 7008 is an African carved hardwood ceremonial seat, estimated at £200–300. The monoxylous construction, geometric incised back and tribal mask carving to the front give the piece both cultural and decorative weight.

Ends Thursday 26 February from 1pm. See the full catalogue here.

Pictures

Landscape and figurative works take centre stage in this week’s Pictures sale.

Lot 6500, Owen Bowen’s Sheep Grazing in the Yorkshire Moors, estimated at £200–300, captures the soft tonal atmosphere associated with the Staithes Group. Signed and dated 1906, it reflects the enduring appeal of Yorkshire subjects.

For a more continental scene, Lot 6526, Juan Soler’s Parisian street view with horse drawn carriages, is guided at £300–500. Its lively composition and architectural detail evoke the romance of early twentieth century Paris. At a more accessible estimate of £80–120, Lot 6543, a reclining Buddha by Sri Lankan artist L. K. Karunaratne, presents a contemplative study by a respected heritage conservationist and painter of Buddhist subjects.

Ends Thursday February 26 from 3pm. See the full catalogue here.

Antique & Decorative Objects

Ceramics and twentieth century design provide some of the week’s strongest decorative statements.

Lot 6005, Tony Morris’ leaping dolphin group for Poole Pottery, estimated at £3,000–4,000, is particularly notable. This model duplicates the sculpture presented to Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh during their 1979 visit to Poole Pottery, with the original cast destroyed. Provenance from the Arnold Smith collection further enhances its appeal.

Arts and Crafts interest comes via Lot 6012, a Pilkington’s Royal Lancastrian Sea Maiden vase by Walter Crane and William Slater Mycock, estimated at £800–1,200. Dating from the early twentieth century, it represents an important collaboration in British studio ceramics. For collectors of more nostalgic charm, Lot 6000, a set of eight Royal Doulton Brambly Hedge Recipe plates, estimated at £200–400, offers decorative and collectable appeal.

Ends Friday 27 February from 11am. See the full catalogue here.
